Join the Wellness Council for the Healthy Brunch: Lowering Your Cholesterol Cooking Class!
Did you know?
- According to the CDC, almost 2 in 5 adults have high cholesterol levels.
- High Cholesterol has no symptoms and raises the risk of heart disease and stroke.
- You can control, and even lower, your blood cholesterol levels through diet.
Join Chef Angela Douglas of the MCC Hospitality Management Department in this hands-on cooking class which explores ways to control blood cholesterol levels. Come join us on Wednesday, March 27, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. in the Hospitality Department kitchen in Building 3 room 140. This event is free to all participants, thanks to the Wellness Council. This event is open to all MCC employees.
The Brunch menu includes: Black Bean and Egg Breakfast Burritos, Four Grain Waffles with Maple and Apple Butter Syrup, and a Top Your Own Steel Cut Oats Bar.
Seating is limited and is on a first come, first served basis, so be sure to sign up early! Email Andrea Wolff (awolff@monroecc.edu) for additional details and to register for the class.
For your safety in the kitchen, please wear covered-toed shoes with non-slip bottoms. Tennis shoes/sneakers are great!
