The MCC Human Library will take place on Wednesday, April 26, 2017, from 12:00 noon to 4:00 pm in the LeRoy V. Good Library on the Brighton Campus. About 20 members of the MCC and Greater Rochester community who have a unique perspective to represent will act as “human books,” and MCC students, faculty, and staff will have the opportunity to borrow them for 20-minute conversations, either one-on-one or in small groups.
Highlights from the upcoming event include an atheist/pagan; an Iraqi refugee; transgender individuals; a deaf person; activists focused on poverty, civil rights, labor issues, gay rights, and community-building through art; a Kemetic yoga practitioner; a soul singer who is also a public defender; a first-generation college student turned community college president; a blind person who advocates for disability awareness; a third-party presidential candidate who is passionate about do-it-yourself politics; and more!
