Student, Faculty Interviewed About Teacher Mentoring Program

13WHAM News aired a segment on the new Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) Teacher Mentoring Program, a partnership between MCC and the Rochester City School District. The mentoring program's purpose is to create a strong system of support for aspiring and current educators of color. The goal is to recruit and prepare a new generation of teachers while helping retain those who are relatively new to the profession.

13WHAM News interviewed Sasha Williams, a second-year student in MCC's education program, and Dr. LaToya Mañόn, assistant professor of education at MCC.

The report, "Mentoring program at MCC aims to reverse shortage of teachers of color," is posted on WHAM-TV's website.

The news release is available on MCC's news website.
