TV, Radio Coverage of 9-11 Ceremony

MCC’s September 11 commemoration ceremony marking the 21st anniversary of the terror attacks drew nearly 75 students, faculty, staff, alumni and community members to the Brighton Campus to pay tribute to 9/11 victims and first responders. Jessica L. Brown ’02 and Daniel Chupe-O’Hanlon ’02, whose vision led to the creation of the September 11th Remembrance Walk monument on the Brighton Campus in 2002, were among the attendees.

WHEC-TVSpectrum News 1 and WXXI News (AM 1370) covered the event. They interviewed Paula Barlow '22, MCC Student Government Association president, a paralegal student and a parent of five sons, two of whom are reservists and a third serving in the Marine Corps; MCC Acting Provost and Vice President of Academic and Student Services Dr. Kim McKinsey-Mabry ’95; Eric Wheeler, assistant director of MCC Veteran Services and MCC alumnus; and Mark Maddalina, who served as the lead designer of the monument and has returned to the campus annually to speak and mark the 9/11 anniversary.
