Radio Stations Report on Student Enrollment Increase

MCC's year-to-year increase in student enrollment for the first time in 10 years garnered media coverage.

In addition to Rochester Beacon's in-depth article posted on Sept. 27,  WHAM-AM and WXXI News reported on this development on Sept. 22 and 25. Christine Casalinuovo-Adams, associate vice president of Enrollment Management at MCC, spoke to WXXI News about the contributing factors for the enrollment trend reversal:

"The work that we're doing is identifying the need each student individually has and they could all be different. But many of our students face food, housing and financial insecurity. And those are the areas that we focused on providing those wraparound supports. We have an expanded health and wellness program, where we're offering the Timely Care, which is on-demand access to health services."

Fast-forward to 2:00 to listen to WXXI's segment. Another version of its report included Christine's remarks on the College's efforts in aligning programs with workforce needs.
