On Tuesday, April 2 students from the Liberty Partnerships Program (LPP) invited the MCC and Rochester communities to celebrate the completion of their anti-violence mural. Over the course of the school year, seven LPP students met after school to implement the project. Students received a grant from Youth as Resources, a community-based youth philanthropy and youth voice program of the Rochester-Monroe County Youth Bureau. Funding supported the mural completion, teaching community members about youth violence, and a luncheon presentation of their work. The unveiling took place at the Damon City Campus, where the students presented their mural, entitled “Save the Youth: Demolish the Violence,” and discussed the importance of addressing violent crime amongst young people in Rochester.
