The office of Student Life & Leadership Development presents the following events for next week (please share with students):

Mole Day Celebration

  • Monday, October 23rd, 12:00 to 1:00pm, Brighton Campus Center Terrace

Join Chemistry Club for a Mole Day Celebration. What’s Mole day you may ask? It is celebrated annually on October 23 from 6:02am to 6:02pm, it commemorates Avogadro's Number (6.02 x 10²³), which is a basic measuring unit in chemistry. 

Breast Cancer Awareness Month Event

  • Wednesday, October 25th, 11:30am to 1:00pm, Brighton Campus Center Terrace

Join Black Student Union for a Breast Cancer Awareness Month event. There will be candle lighting to honor those who have passed, pins for support, treats, and there will collection of Cash donations for Cancer Support Community at Gilda’s Club of Rochester.

Chemistry Club Stress Balls

  • Wednesday, October 25th, 9:00am to 1:00pm, Brighton Campus Center Atrium  

Join Chemistry Club at the Health Fair and make a stress ball for those mid-term stressors!

Red Cross Blood Drive

  • Wednesday, October 25th, 12:00pm to 5:00pm, Warshof Conference Center, R. Thomas Flynn Campus Center Monroe A & B

Student Life and Leadership development will be sponsoring the MCC Brighton campus Red Cross Blood Drive. In order to give blood, you must meet the following qualifications: You must be in general good health and feeling well. Also, be at least 17 years old and weigh at least 110 pounds. You may only donate blood every 56 days.

Walk-ins are welcome however, you are encouraged to make an appointment. Please visit redcrossblood.org and enter sponsor code: mccrochester; call 1-800-733-2767; or Schedule Your Blood Donation Online.

Pumpkin Launching

  • Friday, October 27th, 1:00pm to 5:00 pm, University of Rochester by Wilson Commons Student Activities

Students from Engineering Leadership Council and SMASH club will be competing against various colleges at the University of Rochester in a Pumpkin Launching Competition. The goal is to see which campus has been able to construct a device that accurately launches pumpkins various feet! Stop by and cheer them on!
