Share in the International Day of Remembrance for Holocaust victims with MCC's Holocaust Genocide Studies Project. The 12th annual Yom HaShoah Commemoration and Candle Lighting ceremony will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2003 at 7 p.m. at the Memorial Art Gallery, 500 University Avenue.
The keynote speaker will be Stephen Feinstein, Ph.D., director of the Center for Holocaust and Genocide Studies and professor of history at the University of Minnesota. He will present "The Art of Memory: The Holocaust Reflected through Art, Images and Monuments" which will explore how art has captured historical tragedies and events. He will also compare the art and memorials of the United States, Germany, Poland and Israel.
