Important Information Related to Withdrawal and Financial Aid
The following information was emailed directly to students and posted to the Student Tribune.
Please note, students who receive Federal Title IV financial aid (PELL Grant, Federal Direct Student Loans, SEOG Grant) and completely withdraw or stop attending classes before the 60% point of the semester will have their federal financial aid recalculated based on the percentage of the semester they complete. This is true even if the financial aid has already been paid.
Due to classes being cancelled this week in response to COVID-19, the first day past the 60% point of the semester has changed from Thursday April 2nd to Tuesday April 14th.
What does this mean? If a student in full term classes withdraws or stops attending/participating in all their classes prior to April 14th, their Federal financial aid will be reduced and they will likely owe a bill.
Please communicate with students who have concerns about their class delivery model changes. Students who have questions related to their financial aid can still send an email to financialaid@monroecc.edu or leave a phone message at 585-292-2050 or 585-685-6003.
