MCC Public Safety Department welcomes 4 new Peace Officers

The Public Safety Department is happy to announce that they have hired four people to attend the MCC PSTF Police Academy that started December 6, 2023.

Hired on December 1st, 2023 were:

Mark VanAuker - Officer VanAuker comes to MCC from the Rochester City School district where he was a science teacher.

Jose Vazquez – Officer Vazquez comes to MCC after working for the Children's Detention Center.

Tyler Stewart – Officer Stewart comes to MCC after serving as a Genesee County Sheriff's Department jail deputy.  Tyler is a former MCC student and past intern for the public safety department.

Ekrem Ozcelik – A name you may recognize, as Ekrem has been a member of the MCC Department of Public Safety for the past 5 years as a security officer. 

Please join us in welcoming the new officers and wishing them luck as they start the police academy
