Governor Cuomo Designates Parts of Monroe County as Yellow Zones
On Nov. 9, Governor Andrew Cuomo designated parts of Monroe County, including Brighton and the City of Rochester, as yellow zones due to the rise in positive COVID-19 cases. According to New York's COVID-19 Micro-Cluster Strategy, in yellow zones, businesses remain open and gatherings are restricted to 25 people, inside and outside.
Working with the top public health experts, New York state developed a science-based approach to contain these clusters and stop any further spread of the virus, including rules and restrictions directly targeted to areas with the highest concentration of COVID cases and the surrounding communities. The new rules are in effect for a minimum of 14 days.
