Human Books Event: Reserve Your Conversation Now!
Reservations are now open for your seat at the table during MCC's fourth annual Human Books Event. This is your chance to have a conversation with a unique individual! This year's Human Books include Rochester Chief of Police La'Ron Singletary, Holocaust survivor Carl Wetzstein, Zen Buddhist priest Trueman Taylor, transgender man Brayden Robles, and many others. More information and reservations are available on our website. Check back often, as we're still adding participants.
MCC students, faculty, and staff, please join us on Wednesday, April 29, from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the LeRoy V. Good Library on the Brighton Campus. Reservations are recommended because space is limited, but If you don't have a reservation, you can still drop in to see who is available.
This event is intended to encourage dialogue as a path toward developing intellectual curiosity, empathy, and empowerment through the exploration of new perspectives. Members of the MCC and greater Rochester community who have a unique perspective to represent act as "Human Books," and MCC students, faculty, and staff have the opportunity to borrow them for conversations (either in a small group or one-on-one, depending on demand).
Students: Interested in volunteering at the event? Lunch will be provided. Contact Alice Wilson (awilson@monroecc.edu).
Faculty: To arrange to bring a class to the event or if you have any questions, please contact Andrea Kingston (ext. 2313; akingston4@monroecc.edu) or Alice Wilson (ext. 2304; awilson@monroecc.edu).
