What is With the Facial Hair and Unique Colors?
If you happen to be on campus and you see a Public Safety Officer that looks unshaven or has a distinctive color in their hair, it is because we have relaxed our appearance standards for a good cause! Public Safety is taking part in fundraising again this year, along with other local law enforcement agencies, for Prostate Cancer Awareness Month. During the month of November, male staff are being allowed to grow a neatly trimmed goatee or a beard and female staff are permitted to add a streak of color to their hair or paint their nails abnormally bright in exchange for making a donation to the Prostate Cancer Foundation (https://www.pcf.org/). Public Safety members raised over $500 last year for this worthy charity, and our hope is to raise even more than that this year!
