Resources and Benefits of Practicing Mindfulness

There are many proven benefits to practicing mindfulness. From improved focus, to better stress management, mindfulness cultivates a positive impact on overall wellbeing. By practicing mindfulness, college students can enhance their mental clarity, reduce anxiety, develop academic success and personal growth. Embracing mindfulness can be a powerful tool for navigating the challenges that higher education sometimes brings. Students are not the only ones to benefits from practicing mindfulness either, faculty and staff can benefit greatly from practicing mindfulness to help navigate the challenges of working in higher education with a calm and centered mind. Please see the free resources below to help you integrate mindfulness into your personal and professional lives, as well as share with students to help support their overall wellbeing inside and outside of the classroom.

Free for students, faculty and staff:

  • Therapy Assistance Online (TAO)
    • Online platform with over 20 mindfulness exercises. Use MCC email to sign up.
  • Headspace
    • Meditation app with mediations, music, and additional mindfulness resources. Use MCC email address to sign up for one-month free trial.

Free for students in credit courses:

  • TimelyCare
    • Online platform with mindfulness, meditation, and yoga videos available. Students can use MCC email address to sign up.
