Two students in the Nursing Program were recently notified that they have been awarded Kennedy Fellow Scholarships. Elaine Stickles and Liz Sheen, both first semester Nursing students, will receive stipends for up to four semesters. Fellows also choose a mentor who serves as a career sponsor and academic advisor. Liz and Elaine will be mentored by Theresa Bowick-Smith, RN who is a graduate of MCC. Kennedy Fellows commit to study in fields such as special education, psychology, social work and nursing. "Fellows play leadership roles in a diversified workforce and have emerged as role models for their co-workers and strong advocates for the people they serve." Congratulations to these two students.
