Dr. Catharine Ganze-Smith, Interim Dean, Humanities and Social Sciences

Pending the MCC Board of Trustees’ approval on April 22, 2024, Dr. Catharine Ganze-Smith will assume the role of MCC’s Interim Dean, Humanities and Social Sciences, effective April 8, 2024.

Currently serving MCC as Chair of the English-Philosophy Department, Dr. Ganze-Smith possesses the skills, expertise, and leadership qualities to succeed in this position. Since joining MCC in 2007, she has played critical roles in several College-wide initiatives in support of the College’s strategic priorities, including her service as CAPE Committee Chair, Liberal Arts and Sciences: General Studies Program Evaluation Leader, and Middle States Self-Study Standard 5 Co-Chair.

Dr. Ganze-Smith earned her EdD from the University of Rochester and holds an MA in English Literature from SUNY Buffalo and BA in English Literature and German from the College of William and Mary.

I am confident that Dr. Ganze-Smith’s leadership and direction will serve the Division of Humanities and Social Sciences well.
