The Dialogues on Diversity Committee, along with The Office of Student Life and Leadership Development, invite you to join us on Wednesday, April 13, 2011 as we present special guests, Mr. Evan Pritchard and the Ganondagan Spirit Dancers.
This will be exciting presentation of Native American Cultures. Mr. Pritchard is an expert on the music and culture of the Anishinabe tribe. A full-time professor for 11 years, Mr. Pritchard served as an adjunct at Vassar, Pace and Marist Colleges. He has taught Native American Studies, including Native American Religion, at all three institutions.
Evan Pritchard has been interviewed on various television stations including The History Channel, MSNBC and Touring Native New York; The Sapohannikan Trail, a popular broadcast series on Manhattan Cable. He has also been interviewed on WNYC, Voice of America, the ABC Radio Network, Pacifica Network and many other radio networks.
The Ganondagan Spirit Dancers are an urban Native American dance group. Formed in 1995 as a way to teach their culture and traditions to today’s youth, the group has gained national recognition, and has become ambassadors for Ganondagan. One of their greatest highlights was when they performed for former First Lady Hillary Clinton in New York City at the Native American Museum.
