The LIVE UNITED picnics held on the Brighton Campus on Wednesday, 3/31 and on the Damon City Campus on Thursday, 4/1, were an overwhelming success. We were able to raise student awareness of the mission of the United Way and how it benefits our community, and at the same time had a lot of “carnival” fun with all the trimmings! In total, you helped us raise over $400 from these events for the United Way of Greater Rochester.
I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Marijo Haggett and the rest of the crew of Aramark for their support, not only in the time spent on these events but in the donation of food and prizes for the students. Truly, we could not have done it without Aramark’s generous support.
In addition, I would like to thank the following individuals for their help in contributing to the event:
Tricia Storms
Ellen Gozik
Chuck Theis
Douglas (Merlin) Moorefield
Rhaul Raja
Eddie Visagie
Greg Wilson
Jaime Smith
Carol Fisher and the MCC Bookstores
Next Generation Vending
The “Celebrity Scoopers”:
-Jodi Oriel
-Kimberley Collins
-Kristen Fragnoli
-Vilma Morrow
-Dr. Ann Topping
-Dr. Pete Otero
-Heze Simmons
And of course we would like to thank our president, Dr. Anne Kress, and Cynthia Cooper for their overall support of the MCC United Way Campaign.
The following students won prizes: The mountain bike went to Jennifer Wolf; the $50 Aramark Gift Certificate was won by Tracy Hendrikx; winners of the $25 Bookstore gift certificates for correctly answering the scavenger hunt questions were Indigo Darling and Jamiicia Garnen.
Finally, I want to thank all of the staff, faculty and students who supported the United Way by participating in the fun and contributing their time and money!
The MCC Community really cares! Thanks for LIVING UNITED!
