MCC faculty presented and participated in workshops during the Damon City Campus Fall Forum on October 16, 2015. Based on this year's Teaching & Creativity Center's theme, "Helping Students Learn How to Learn," the event participants looked closely at strategies and thinking related to metacognition, textbook use, goal-setting, and note-taking techniques. Thanks to Renee Dimino (Helping Students Learn Effective Textbook Use), Janet Waasdorp (Helping Students Learn Effective Goal-Setting), and Julie Damerell (Helping Students Learn Effective Notetaking) for sharing their insights, research, and practice to enable nearly 40 participants to walk away with practical ideas to help students. In addition to engaging in the opening session and workshops, they enjoyed a welcome from Dr. Joel Frater, DCC Executive Dean, and had lively discussions that continued through lunch and following informal closing comments from Dr. Kim McKinsey-Mabry, interim DCC Academic Dean.
