The Week Ahead

The office of Student Life & Leadership Development presents the following events for next week (please share with students):

Horticulture Event

  • Wednesday, April 10th, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Brighton Campus Center Terrace
  • Join the Sustainability Club and Grow Monroe for their horticulture event, and learn about the cultivation of gardening.

Campus One80 Rap Concert

  • Wednesday, April 10th, 12:00 pm to 1:00pm, Brighton Campus Center Atrium
  • Join Campus One80 for a Rap Concert with Rapper Cuevas Walker. Enjoy rap, singing, and greatness.

Snack n’ Chat

  • Wednesday, April 10th, 12:00 pm to 1:00pm, Downtown Campus 2nd Floor Lounge
  • Join the Student Government Association for a snack and chat where you can grab a quick snack and ask your current SGA officers any questions you have and get to know them!

Cardboard Boat Race

  • Wednesday, April 10th, 12:00 pm to 1:00pm, Brighton Campus Center Pool (Building 10)
  • Join the Engineering Leadership Council for their annual Cardboard Boat race. Entry fee: $20 and comes with kit to make a cardboard boat. Kits will be sold in the ELC office 3-132. First place prize is a 3D Printer!

Peace of Mind

  • Wednesday, April 10th, 12:00 pm to 1:00pm, Downtown Campus High Falls A
  • Join First Year Experience, Counseling & Disability Services, and Student Life and Leadership Development for a Peace of Mind relaxation event. Make your own spa goody bags and yogurt bar will be included, while supplies last.

Student Nurses Silent Auction

  • Wednesday, April 10th, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Brighton Campus Center Terrace
  • Thursday, April 11th, 11:00 am to 1:00 pm, Brighton Campus Center Terrace
  • Join the Student Nurses Association for their Annual Silent Auction. Proceeds of the auction go to scholarships!

Queen’s Gambit Watch Party

  • Thursday, April 11th, 5:00 pm to 8:00pm, Brighton Campus Brighton Room  
  • Join Chess Club for a Queen’s Gambit watch party while playing chess! Snacks will be provided.

Other News:

  • Tax Help on Campus: The Department of Taxation and Finance will be on campus to help students get in-person tax help and file for free. Help will be available Friday 4/12 on Brighton Campus from 9:30- 4:30 pm. Students must pre-register for an appointment at www.tax.ny.gov/tap/
  • DHS on Campus: Monroe County Department of Hyman Services will be on Campus at Brighton (3-126) on Wednesday, April 10th, from 10 am to 1pm. The DHS staff will be providing information on SNAP, HEAP, safe sleep, child support, and many other resources. Stop by if you need support or have any questions.
  • It is opening weekend of MCC’s Spring Play of Clue! Shows will be Friday and Saturday night at 7:30 pm as well as a matinee on Sunday at 2:00 pm. Tickets are sold at the door. Show will be in Robin & Tim Wentworth Theater, Building 4.
  • Phi Theta Kappa Students traveled over the weekend to Catalyst International Conference in Orlando, FL. They got to network with over 1200 PTK chapters from around the country and abroad.
  • Four student leaders will be celebrated at the SUNY Chancellor Award Ceremony on April 11th in Albany, NY. Let’s send them our congratulations on receiving this high honor!
