Are your course outcomes equitable?
Do you know? Would you like to know?
Please join Professors Amanda Colosimo and Jessica Barone, both of the Chemistry and Geosciences Department, for a series of three workshops "Rock Stars in the Classroom: Student Success and Retention in STEM" designed to show you some new teaching tricks to engage students of diverse backgrounds. Who is successful (or not) in your STEM courses? What evidence-based techniques can you use to improve the outcomes for all of your students, but especially those historically under-represented in STEM disciplines?
The registration form and descriptions of each workshop are available at the following link: https://serc.carleton.edu/sage2yc/teams/monroe/workshop2020/index.html
Participants are encouraged to engage in all three workshops (@noon on 9/30, 10/7, and 10/14) but are welcome to participate only in those of greatest interest as well. These workshops are a product of grant work and training through the SAGE2YC (Supporting and Advancing Geoscience Education at Two-Year Colleges) Program and the National Science Foundation Division of Undergraduate Education.
Please contact Amanda Colosimo (acolosimo@monroecc.edu) with any questions.
