MCC and Corporate College this week were named among the "https://successfulstudent.org/15-best-drone-training-colleges/" 15 Best Drone Training Colleges in America, according to SuccessfulStudent.org.
The MCC Corporate College Introduction to Small Unmanned Aerial Systems (sUAS) non-credit class, pioneered through partnership with Canandaigua-based SkyOp, LLC, earned the placement among institutions like Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Oklahoma State University and Kansas State University. MCC and Mohawk Valley Community College (SUNY), another SkyOp partner, were among only three community colleges on the list.
The "https://campusce.monroecc.edu/monroecc/course/course.aspx?C=468" Corporate College course, next offered in October, features training and instruction with a quadcopter and simulator. Participants learn how to use and apply multi-rotors, fixed wing and autonomous flight systems. Flight vehicles and their characteristics are shared and practiced. Current FAA rules and regulations plus operational risk and safety issues are addressed during the six-session, 18-hour, open enrollment class.
According to SuccessfulStudent.org, factors considered in the ranking were academic reputation, hands-on drone training in piloting/engineering, variety of courses, and accreditation. The ranking was considered from the student’s point of view.
