The MCC men's basketball team won its second consecutive Region III, Division II championship and ninth overall, defeating top-ranked Erie CC 94-88 at Alfred State Sunday.
Bobby Bell and Raheem Singleton scored 21 points apiece to lead the Tribunes. Bell made five 3-pointers to raise his total to 98, good for the most in a single season in MCC history.
Singleton was named the tournament's Most Valuable Player and Aaron Williams was named to the All-Tournament team.
The Tribunes (27-2) will travel to Dean College in Franklin, Mass. next Saturday, March 6 for the District 3 championship. The winner of that game will advance to the NJCAA Division II national tournament.
