Steve Wozniak, designer and developer of the first Apple computer and current chairman and CEO of Wheels of Zeus, an emerging wireless company, will speak about his accomplishments and immediate plans at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 10 in the Brighton Campus Theatre, Bldg 4. Assistance for the hearing-impaired will be provided.
Wozniak will be in Rochester to help Apple CIDER (Apple Computer Information and Data Exchange of Rochester), Inc. celebrate its 25th year of assisting Apple and Macintosh users in western New York. With 170 members, Apple CIDER is one of the oldest continuously operating computer clubs in the country and by far the largest computer club in Rochester.
The event, which is being co-sponsored by Apple CIDER and MCC's Visual and Performing Arts Department, is open to the public. Tickets--$10 for the general public and $5 for students and members of Apple CIDER--are available through www.applecider.org. Doors will open at 6:30 p.m.
Wozniak is expected to speak not only about his history as a computer-industry pioneer but also about his current venture, which uses wireless technology to track pets, people, and objects.
