Please RSVP via email to Pam Rende (prende@monroecc.edu) and identify the workshop(s) you wish to attend.
I. CRUCIAL CONVERSATIONS: TRANSFORMING MEETINGS INTO IMPACTFUL INTERACTIONS
Most employees attend numerous meetings throughout the course of a semester, and often-times are required to chair a meeting. This workshop will provide tips and tactics to help participants learn to facilitate more effective meetings. This guide will include ideas to increase engagement at the meetings, ensure productivity, and bolster morale.
Tuesday, November 5: 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm (Downtown TBA)
Wednesday, November 6: 3:00 pm to 4:00 pm (Brighton TBA)
II. FIVE PRINCIPLES TO GOVERN YOUR PROFESSIONAL LIFE
Adapting the philosophical principles of Michael Murdcock, this presentation will explore five of the principles and discuss their connection to your professional life. The interactive session will offer participants an opportunity to explore their own career paths and determine future steps.
Wednesday, November 13: 10:00 am to 11:00 am (Brighton TBA)
Friday, November 15: 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm (Downtown TBA)
III. EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION: THE BENEFITS OF STORY-TELLING
The average person remembers approximately 7% of information provided to them in an oral form. When that information is delivered in the form of a story, the percentage remembered increases significantly. This workshop will provide suggestions for format and delivery of stories, and offer participants an opportunity to practice story telling.
Wednesday, December 4: 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm (Brighton TBA)
Friday, December 6: 3:30 pm to 4:30 pm (Downtown TBA)
IV. SUPPLEMENTING YOUR SAVINGS: 403Bs/Roth IRAs and More
Gary Whitten from Buffalo returns to campus to enlighten us on supplemental retirement accounts, tax deferrals, and all aspects of NY state plans for savings. His last workshop was well-received by the MCC faculty and staff.
Tuesday, November 12: 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm (Brighton TBA)
V. RETURN ON LIFE: ENJOYING A BETTER QUALITY OF LIFE NOW AND INTO RETIREMENT
Gary Whitten from Buffalo will join us for a presentation on how to prioritize what is important to you. We live in a fast-paced society, and many of us often spend limited time on the activities and with the people who bring us the most joy. Gary will utilize a software package that allows the participants to identify their priorities and develop plans to ensure that these items are allotted the appropriate amount of time to enhance the quality of our lives. The package focuses on the present, but also provides information and guidance for the future, including one's retirement years.
Wednesday, December 11: 12:00 noon to 1:00 pm (Brighton TBA)
If you or your department want any customized training, please email Pam for options. We look forward to seeing you at a workshop.
