A reading and book-signing with Gary Soto, author of 11 poetry collections for adults, will be held 7 p.m., Thursday, Oct. 29 in the Warshof Conference Center of the Flynn Campus Center.
Soto’s book “New and Selected Poems” was a 1995 finalist for the Los Angeles Times Award and the National Book Award. Honored with the Human and Civil Rights Award from the American Education Association in 1999, he has been the recipient of numerous literary honors and fellowships.
Soto was born and raised in Fresno, California. His poems explore themes of identity as well as the richness and vitality of the lives of Mexican immigrants.
This event is free and open to the public.
