COS 181 Mentors Needed for Fall 2023
The ESOL/TRS department is continuing to pilot an academic recovery course, Strategies for Academic Success-COS 181, in fall 2023. This course is designed for students who are striving to achieve Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) and to advance in their program of study.
A key component to this course will be a connection with a mentor in the College community. A mentor is a positive influence in a student’s life, help students discover answers, find alternate solutions, and brainstorm needed resources. The mentor’s role is that of a supporter and guide. Mentors and their students will meet (in person or virtually) throughout the semester to check in on the student’s progress. Anyone who works at the College is eligible to volunteer to be a mentor.
To indicate your interest, please complete the COS 181 Mentor Interest Survey for Fall 2023.
We are hosting a COS 181 Mentor Information Session on Zoom Tuesday, June 13 from 10:00-11:00 am. Please feel free to join us to learn more information on this exciting opportunity.
