I’m pleased to announce that the new Curriculum Tab is now “live” on the myMCC Portal. This technology collaboration in support of student learning and student success utilizes the College’s portal and provides transparency and direct access to all of the College’s curriculum and assessment resources.
The concept of a curriculum resources tab was first introduced to the Faculty Senate in spring 2011 by Mark Ernsthausen, Curriculum Committee Chair, after being well received by the Faculty Senate Executive Committee. Throughout the fall semester, Bob Reynolds (Computing) has worked closely with Pat Kuby (Curriculum Special Projects) and the Curriculum Office to complete the work on the tab. It was demonstrated at the Faculty Senate’s November 17 meeting. Since that presentation, response has been very positive with faculty indicating they looked forward to having the College’s curriculum resources, curriculum postings, and individual faculty proposals available through the employee portal.
I want to acknowledge the expertise and efforts of Bob Reynolds in the development of the Curriculum Tab. For almost ten years, Bob has provided support to the Curriculum Office to expand the application, use, and functionality of the Curriculum Database and Catalog Database. Recognized with the Innovation of the Year Award in 2003, the Curriculum Database remains efficient, innovative, and valued by the College community.
I encourage you to take some time and explore the curriculum and assessment resources that are now available via the Curriculum Tab on the myMCC Portal.
