The Department of Public Safety is pleased to announce a new name for one of its key components. Departments or units responsible for the assessment, management, control, and prevention of environmental factors that may adversely affect the health, comfort, safety, or well-being of individuals are commonly referred to as Environmental Health and Safety. As such, the Office of Safety & Hazard Prevention has changed its name to Environmental Health & Safety (EH&S).
This change in name makes Monroe Community College consistent with industry standards, including other SUNY institutions, and helps colleagues in the EH&S field recognize who they are communicating with.
MCC is fortunate to have Sharon Marini as supervisor of EH&S. Sharon is assisted by Chris Caswell, Ray Sabourin and Patricia Neary. Please contact any of our EH&S staff should you have any questions or need assistance regarding a workplace environmental concern.
