Dr. Lovenheim Named AAWCC's Trustee of the Year

Please join me in congratulating Dr. Barbara Lovenheim on receiving the 2021 Trustee of the Year award from the American Association for Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC). She is among this year's four national award recipients recently spotlighted in the Community College Daily.

Trustee Lovenheim is recognized for her outstanding leadership as board chair in selecting the College's sixth president. The nationwide search included developing a list of presidential expectations that guided the hiring process and ensuring that all stakeholders at MCC had a voice in that process. While the presidential search was being conducted, Trustee Lovenheim also oversaw the process to select an interim president.

"All of the honorees represent excellence in leadership for the nation’s community colleges,” American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) President and CEO Walter Bumphus said in a statement. AAWCC is an affiliate council of AACC. 

MCC is grateful for Dr. Lovenheim’s leadership, dedication, and service during a pivotal time in the College’s history and for her role in positioning the College to achieve its mission of access, academic excellence and inclusiveness for years to come.

We are proud and delighted that her contributions are also recognized at the national level.
