It’s hard for me to believe that I’m starting my second year as MCC’s president.
Throughout this summer, in my bi-weekly messages, I’ll be updating you on various initiatives that we’ve been working on throughout this past year. But, this week, as I reflect on my first year, I simply want to pause and say thank you.
I look back on twelve months of amazing memories created by your warm welcome and the spirit of creativity and innovation that makes MCC so very special. Here are just a few:
--Working my way through the Rochester “must-do’s” you shared at my first day reception
--Meeting our remarkable student leaders on a cold, rainy “summer” night at Conesus Lake
--Watching my children run laps in the PAC with the then-pre-champion women’s lacrosse team
--Seeing your generosity in helping to build the Snowflake Scholarship
--Celebrating so many birthdays
--Being honored with the beautiful, one of a kind medallion created by the ATC faculty and students
--Hearing my colorful past revisited in song
--Watching the wonderful plays created by the service learning collaboration between our Education students and children from the World of Inquiry school
--Talking with students eager to share their accomplishments, whether an amazing Biology poster, an award-winning Art photo, or a moving Speech
--Fielding questions in an Ask Anne Anything broadcast live on WMCC the FUSE
--Visiting with the Gateway to College students who shared their inspirational stories of perseverance and success
--Serving as a sous chef at the East High School Iron Chef Contest, with a cheering section comprised of our talented Hospitality faculty and students
--Frugging at the Magical Mystery Tour Gold Star Gala
--Hosting the SUNY Strategic Plan launch and hearing how MCC and our great SUNY partners have truly changed lives (an event so exciting, one participant actually fainted!)
--Wiping away tears at the Nursing Pinning, Honors Convocation, and Commencement
And, this list doesn’t even scratch the surface of this incredible year. I could not be happier at MCC and in Rochester!
As always, I love to hear your thoughts. I invite you to share your memories of the year on the President’s Wednesday Message blog <<

Thank you!
P.S. Yes, I know today is Thursday, but the Independence Day holiday pushes everything back a day, right?
