Kudos from MCC students to Faculty and Staff

Samantha Nally (Mathematics), Receiving 2 Nominations

  • Professor Nally goes above and beyond with her teaching style while also being friendly and helpful with students. She teaches how to solve problems but shows multiple different ways to do so in case a student understands one way better than another.
  • I would like to nominate Professor Samantha Nally. This is her first year as a math professor at MCC, but she did exceptionally well at teaching me and the rest of my class the differing concepts of Math 098 and also made it enjoyable while doing so with her bubbly and encouraging demeanor. She really made things simple to understand, while making the courses multiple concepts pretty easy to remember as well. She really helped me a lot as a professor and was always open to people asking questions if they didn't understand the material, going step by step to make sure we would comprehend everything we were learning. Overall, she's a stellar professor that I'd recommend to anyone, and I'm glad that I had her this year. I wish she was teaching Math 104 next semester; I'd sign up for her course right away!

Sarvaiya Nasim (Education and Human Services)

  • Professor Nasim is one of the best and kind MCC's professor. I love the way she explains the study, and the way that she sits up her class is amazing.

Stephanie Klehr (Visual and Performing Arts)

  • Miss.Khler did an amazing job with us students for her first ever semester teaching. She was very thorough and made sure that we understood the content we were learning. You would not think by her professionalism and such easy going attitude it was her first year teaching! I loved going to her class and being around her positive energy!

Stephanie Poston Broughton (Testing Center)

  • Stephanie makes sure that everyone is accommodated in the testing center, she goes out of her way to make you feel special. The services provided by the testing department are amazing, she goes that extra mile to make you understand. It's hard to put into words she is always great to her employees she makes things happen. She is very shy so if she is picked, she will definitely feel very important. She doesn’t like things like this. Thank you.

Steve Killner (Mathematics)

  • Very helpful when I was not feeling good.

Susan Murphy (Business Administration)

  • Professor Murphy has a very unique way of explaining the course content and it is fantastic. I love how entertaining her classes are considering how long they are, she makes them fun and enjoyable. I also really like that she always stays at the end of classes to answer any questions or talk about anything. I really appreciate all the help that she has given me, also the fact of talking to me and informing me about things that I don't know since I am an exchange student from Spain. To sum up, I would love to tell her that I am very grateful for everything she has taught us throughout the semester and I thank her in advance for the rest that she is going to teach us. Many greetings and I hope you have a great day. :)

Suzanne Long (Biology), Receiving 3 Nominations

  • Professor Long is another professor I would love to nominate. She is great and adorable. She does not trick her students and her stories that relate to Microbiology makes students thoroughly engage in the lectures. She hosts zoom sessions before tests and genuinely loves her job. She can talk about microbiology whenever and wherever. You can tell she knows a lot and has a huge knowledge on everything that she talks about which is what every student needs. She is easily accessible and surprisingly replies to emails late at night too. Again, extremely accessible and just thorough with her explanations. She is the sweetest professor I’ve had by far and seeing her be so awesome at her job makes me hope that future nurses that are taking microbiology get to experience her great teaching!
  • She is nice, kind, hardworking, and helpful.
  • Thank you Professor Long! I truly appreciate that you work as hard as you do to prepare us for exams and quizzes. I know how much time you dedicate to making sure that your students are successful; it pays off in a big way. Thank you for clearly enjoying teaching microbiology!

Terry Shamblin (ESOL and Transitional Studies)

  • Professor Shamblin’s ability to connect to students is remarkable. She is always welcoming and friendly and has no shortage of good stories. She is a phenomenal teacher and cares for all of her student’s success.

Thomas Heidt (Mathematics)

  • I had Professor Heidt for Math 104 this fall semester. I just want to recognize him for his passion for teaching math, and for always being ready to assist each individual student with questions they might have in class about the concepts and course material. He was very helpful, responding to emails even when you were working on the math Webwork website, and made people feel at ease in his class as well. I would take his class again if he were teaching Math 165. But unfortunately, he’s not doing so for the spring 2024 semester. I'd definitely recommend him!

Tony D'Apice (Mathematics)

  • Mr. D'Apice genuinely cares about all of his students and wants all of them to succeed. He spends time explaining every topic and he stays after each class to work with students one on one as needed. He makes class enjoyable and fun, additionally I have never had a higher grade in a math class.

Tracey Graney (Biology)

  • Dr. Graney is a great professor and advisor. She went above and beyond to help student with choosing their courses and pathways.

Walter Becker (Business Administration)

  • A fantastic professor, whom I highly recommend for anyone on the business path. The skills he teaches are invaluable to anyone seeking entrepreneurship and even those who aren't interested. He goes even further beyond to assist students with their assignments and even helps them get connected with those in the field of business that students are interested in. Very few professors put in the time and effort to set students up for success, but he not only shares his extensive knowledge in the field, he also creates assignments to help layout the foundation to create their own business. An great man, and even better professor. Highly recommended 12/10!

William Archer (Library)

  • Bill is the go-to guy for solutions especially IT related ones, in the library. He is happy to respond to questions and to help at times. He makes it easy to learn from him and to be a better worker.
