TCC: RSVP for the October 11th Adjunct Supper for Success

When validation is present, students feel capable of learning; they experience a feeling of self-worth and feel that they, and everything that they bring to the college experience, are accepted and recognized as valuable.1 Join us for Validation Theory in Action, led by Dr. Rachel Santiago, Mathematics Department. This session will share the following strategies that foster student attitudes and behaviors that lead to academic development.

  1. Empowering students by becoming partners in the learning experience
  2. Helping students to feel seen and valued as contributors in the classroom
  3. Motivating students to meet high expectations while remaining flexible and cognizant of the numerous outside stressors affecting our students on a daily basis

Since the start of the pandemic, we've missed an important part of the Suppers for Success series: sharing a meal together while we discuss teaching. We are thrilled to return to in-person workshops, while providing “supper.” Dinner starts at 5:00 pm, and the program begins around 5:15 pm. Check-in opens at 4:45 pm. Coming from class? Don't worry, you are welcome to slip in even if you have to be late.

We look forward to seeing you Tuesday, October 11 from 5 - 6:30 pm, Monroe A.

Please register by 5 pm on October 5th
