Remembering 9/11

It has been 21 years since the tragic events of 9/11. For 20 years, students, faculty and members of our Monroe Community College family have gathered on 9/11 to remember the lives lost and to honor the heroism shown on that day.

MCC has become a place to gather and to remember on 9/11. Through the efforts of our alumni, our community partners and our students, we were able to create a monument that honors the fallen and remembers the heroic. Our current student leaders are committed to ensuring the tragedy of that day is not forgotten.

As the daughter of a Korean War veteran, I join the College community in remembering those we lost and in honoring the heroic efforts of the first responders on that day, and on so many days that followed. I am grateful for this opportunity to pay tribute to service members who answered the call of duty, and to their sacrifices, to ensure our safety and freedom.
