MCC sophomore engineering students took a short break from their hectic midterm study section to tour a renewable energy laboratory at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Students received a personal tour from Dr. Hochgraf from the Electrical, Computer, and Telecommunications Engineering Technology department. They explored topics from a solar power system, a hydrogen fuel system, to an electric bike. They even had a chance to test the e-bike on the campus.
This was of particular interest to MCC engineering student Steven Reuter as he is planning a scholar's day presentation on how the implementation of a regenerative braking system (RBS) recovers electric energy– on his own bicycle.
