Scholarships are game changers for Rochester's future

Scholarships are game changers for Rochester’s future, a guest essay by MCC President Anne Kress and MCC Foundation Executive Director Diane Shoger, was published by the Democrat and Chronicle on January 15, 2016. The essay explains how scholarship recipients are 2.3 times more likely to complete their degrees or certificates than students who do not receive scholarships. Scholarships help students focus on their studies, more easily afford college, and, ultimately, contribute professionally and personally to Rochester's future prosperity.

In 2015, thanks to private philanthropists, the MCC Foundation awarded a record $1.17 million in scholarships to students. The essay includes several related highlights.
