MCC Daily Tribune

Check us out! Welcome back from MCC Libraries.

Dear MCC Faculty and Staff,

It is my great pleasure to welcome new and returning students, faculty, and staff to the MCC Libraries! The MCC Libraries include the LeRoy V. Good Library on the Brighton Campus, the Downtown Campus Learning Commons, and a plethora of supports and resources to meet the needs of in-person, online, and off-campus students. Your MCC account provides unlimited access to all the Libraries have to offer.

The MCC Libraries were named the 2019 Rochester Regional Library Council Academic Library of the Year. We’ve rapidly responded to the changing needs of the MCC community over the past three years by increasing our digital collections, adding technology-enhanced spaces for students to take remote and online classes, adding Zoom research appointments, and much more! We are committed to continuing to evolve to best meet the needs of our community based on the feedback received from students themselves!

I would like to draw your attention to a few notable items of importance this semester:

Spring 2022 library service highlights:

  • Online and in-person consultations and instructional sessions on a wide range of topics are available.
  • Be sure to bookmark our website’s Faculty Guide for up-to-date information on how the library can support your work as faculty and the students you teach.
  • Discover and explore the Learning Commons. Along with expert library faculty and staff, partners at the Student Technology HelpDesk and Tutoring and Academic Assistance Center (TAAC) are available to support students.
  • Encourage students to find their favorite place to study quietly or collaboratively in one of our locations. No reservations are required unless they’d like to book a study room.
  • Find and retrieve books and other circulating items. Current MCC students, faculty, and staff are welcome to access and browse our physical collections.
  • Put textbooks or other resources on reserve for your students at MCC Libraries.

Our library faculty and staff look forward to seeing you online or in person at any of our two accessible locations:

  • Downtown Campus Learning Commons
  • LeRoy V. Good Library, Brighton Campus

Connect with us today by visiting and exploring all that our Libraries have to offer, and we invite you to subscribe to the MCC Libraries News for regular updates.

My library colleagues and I wish you an engaging and successful spring semester!

Katie Ghidiu
