Kristen Reed Appointed as Assistant Director of Purchasing

I am pleased to announce the appointment of Kristen R. Reed as the new Assistant Director of Purchasing and Central Receiving. 

Kristen brings with her a wide range of experience in the purchasing, accounting, and business worlds.  She began her career as an Assistant to Business Manager at the Rochester Athletic Club and then joined SUNY at Buffalo (UB) where she worked as a Staff Assistant in the Athletics Division and got her first taste of purchasing, coordinating all purchases for the entire Athletics program.  With her knowledge of not only purchasing, but also writing bid specs, reconciling accounts, and providing exceptional customer service, she was able to move to the Procurement Services Department at UB where she was a part of several different initiatives and projects.

Thankfully, Kristen’s path brought her to MCC in January 2006 where she has excelled as a Buyer in the Purchasing and Central Receiving Department for nearly 18 years.  Her knowledge of procurement processes, laws, guidelines, and other policies have provided great leadership in the office and across the College.

Kristen says of her new role: “When I joined the MCC family in 2006, I knew it was a perfect fit. I’ve had the privilege of working with great people and doing something I truly enjoy.  My time here has been a good mix of learning new things, and trying my best to serve our faculty, staff, and students.  I am excited to take on this new role and look forward to all that comes with it.”
