Record attendance at LeRoy V. Good Library!

Did you know that over 22,000 people visited the LeRoy V. Good Library during the month of September?

MCC Libraries is seeing record post-Covid attendance numbers despite our current reduced hours! On a typical day, students might stop in before morning classes to print out an assignment or ask a quick question about how to navigate around the college. As the day continues, students hunker down to study, meet up with peers, and sit with a librarian for research help.  The busiest times fall between 10AM - 2PM when you'll often see students hard at work, but they also find spaces to eat lunch with friends or just recharge with a nap before afternoon classes. As the rest of campus winds down a bit, the library is just heating up, with over 10% of visits after 5PM! Students tell us these evening hours are crucial to staying on track with their schoolwork making use of library staff expertise and the in-depth help they provide.

Here’s just a quick glance at what LeRoy V. Good Library students do:

  • Access research through various mediums, use technology, and get help from library clerks, librarians, part-time staff, and student employees. The library has embraced a relationship-rich approach to student support!
  • Use the library’s 22 study rooms to study individually, meet for a group assignment, attend remote classes, and complete coursework.  We even have a Family Friendly Study Room—a space designed for Mom, Dad, and the kids.
  • Connect with technology help from the Student Technology HelpDesk.
  • Print including the only student-use color printers on campus.
  • Check out the hundreds of course textbooks on reserve.
  • So much more!

If you haven't been in lately, come check us out! MCC Libraries welcomes all MCC students, staff, faculty, and the community. We hope to see you soon!
