Encourage Students to Book a Research Help Appointment with a Librarian Today!

Please share the following information and link with your students to access MCC Libraries' research help appointment service:

We're pleased to provide a valuable service that can greatly benefit your students' academic success. MCC Libraries has observed an increase in students seeking drop-in research assistance, and we want to ensure that every student has access to the support they need.

We encourage students to schedule either in-person or online research help appointments to receive in-depth, one-on-one assistance from a knowledgable librarian.

Students can easily schedule appointments in 30-minute increments, which are ideal for starting research projects. Just share this scheduling form link (monroecc.libcal.com/appointments) with your students.

Our librarians can assist students with various research strategies, including:

  • Choosing and refining a topic
  • Evaluating online sources
  • Generating effective keywords
  • Navigating library database and other search tools
  • Differentiating between scholarly and popular sources
  • Citing sources and citation management tools

Feedback from students who've used our research help appointment service has been overwhelmingly positive. All students surveyed (n=46) reported increased confidence in their research abilities and a willingness to apply their newfound knowledge to their assignments. This feedback highlights the valuable support MCC Libraries provides in facilitating student learning and success.
