| The answer to this question is a well kept secret and if I told you they would have to eliminate both of us. Suffice it to say that in Banner most of the program codes HAVE been changed. Why did this happen? What were they thinking?

They had already run out of numbers for our Liberal Arts programs and we were making things up like LA2A. Everyone agreed that was pretty stupid. And no one has ever understood why BT08 meant Office Technology. That makes no sense at all. The idea was to make the program codes more intuitive and they are (at least until someone changes the program titles again. Everyone on the committee plans to be retired by then.) Hey, you can more easily identify a 2+2 programs...they are all numbered 30 or above. Is that cool or what!!

They DID keep LA04 and BU01 the same (I think some money changed hands on that one).

It’s easy to find the new program codes. Check on the M Drive. Here is the path:

 M Drive

 MCC

 INFORMATION

 ADMISSIONS

 BANNER CURRICULUM CODES

The codes are listed in the old, SIS PLUS, order so that you can easily make the translation between old and new.

I have been working with all these people on Banner for two years now and I can assure you that, with the exception of me, every single one of them is certifiably insane. You have no idea how difficult it is to be the “last man standing” in the mental health arena.
