Day Three of Take a Brain Break Week

Welcome to day three of Take a Brain Break Week celebrated by MCC Libraries to support students (plus staff and faculty!) by encouraging self-care and relaxation at the end of each semester.  This week includes fun activities, giveaways, and stress relievers.

We invite you to brighten up the winter gray days with crepe flowers that you make.  You can also turn them into bows for your holiday gifts. Not into flowers? Make a luminary lit up with a battery powered candle. Instructions and supplies will be provided.

According to the Darn Good Yarn article, Can Crafting Relieve Stress?, “You don’t have to worry about deadlines, results, or finished products- only enjoy the process as it unfolds, and learn as you go, if you like. This freeform state opens us back up to simply allowing ourselves to be, and letting go of controlled outcomes.”

Visit with therapy dog Gretta and her human, Prof. Kathy O’Shea today from 10:00 to 11:00am.  You can pet your worries about papers, projects, and finals away for at least a few minutes!

You still have time to enter the drawing for the awesome cooler filled with MCC merch, food, gift certificates, and more!

Be sure to stop in the LVG Library tomorrow for meditation sessions at 10:00am and/or 2:30pm.  Namasté.
