Over 300 childcare administrators and caregivers attended a day-long conference hosted by the Rochester Parent Network and sponsored by Rochester Association for the Education of Young Children on Saturday, Oct. 4 at MCC’s Damon City Center. The annual conference is designed to provide education and support to those working with children from birth through eight years of age.
Keynote speaker Madelyn Swift, nationally acclaimed author, speaker, and authority on discipline, family dynamics and personal communication, presented Bringing Back Integrity – Ours and Theirs. Conference participants were also invited to choose from over 30 individual workshops—on topics such as lesson planning, assessment, inclusion, discipline, music, math, science, and art.
The Rochester Parent Network is a community collaboration administered by Monroe Community College. The goal of the RPN is to help the 10,000 babies born annually in Monroe County reach full potential by aggressively supporting the parents and caregivers that care for them especially during the first stages of life.
