Diane Shoger, executive director of the MCC Foundation, served as chair for the CASE Conference for Community College Advancement which was held in Sacramento, California, September 17-19, 2014. The conference, now in its third year, serves as the annual meeting and professional development opportunity for professionals who work to advance community colleges. Over 350 participants, representing 34 states, 2 Canadian provinces, Guam and the Dominican Republic were in attendance, including a record number of college presidents, chancellors and foundation board members. Over 50 elective sessions were anchored by nationally recognized keynote speakers addressing Leadership, Levity and Donor-Centered Fundraising. This is Diane’s third year on the Planning Committee for the Conference. Diane also served as a panelist for a session titled, “Recruiting, Managing and Maximizing Impact of Board Members.” Mark Pastorella, director of development, attended the conference and presented “Developing an Annual Giving Program” to a packed room of colleagues eager to develop successful strategies to identify and reach constitutes, achieve board engagement and deliver results.
