News from the MCC Board of Trustees Meeting


The MCC Board of Trustees held its meeting in the Board Room, Spina Administration Building on the Brighton Campus on Monday, December 1 and took the following actions:

1.          Accepted the Interim Financial Reports as of August 31, September 30 and October 31, 2014.

2.          Authorized the purchase of items over $20,000 as listed for the month of August, September and October, 2014.

3.          Amended the 2013-2014 Operating Expenses from the budgeted amount of $124,300,000 to the final adjusted amount of $122,040,678 in accordance with the Annual Financial Report for the year ended August 31, 2014.

4.          Approved the Annual Financial Report to SUNY for the fiscal year ended August 31, 2014.


5. Approved the annual audit of MCC for the fiscal year ended August 31, 2014, as approved by Bonadio & Co., LLP. 

6.          Authorized the transfer of funds totaling $315,255.

7.          Approved the sale of the property at 1285 East Henrietta Road to B&R (NY) Realty, LLC, subject to the approval of the Monroe County Legislature and the State University of New York Board of Trustees.

8.          Approved the appointment of Melissa Fingar, Esq. as Assistant to the President, Human Resources and Organizational Development effective November 24, 2014.

9.          Adopted the “MCC Employee and Visitor Conduct Policy” effective December 1, 2014, as amended. 

10.          Approved an A.A. degree, subject to the approval by the State University of New York: Creative Writing, A.A.

11.       Approved an A.A.S. degree, subject to the approval by the State University of New York: Surgical Technology, A.A.S.

12.       Approved an A.S. degree, subject to the approval by the State University of New York: Liberal Arts and Sciences:  Biology, A.S.

13.       Approved a resolution congratulating Professor John Wadach for being selected the 2014 Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching Outstanding Community Colleges Professor of the Year, and thanked him for the many ways he inspires his students to discover their potential, and extended sincere best wishes for his continued success.

14.       Conducted an Executive Session pursuant to Public Officers Law §105, subsection (f).

The Board heard presentations from LaBella PC representatives on the design of the new downtown campus; Bonadio and Co. LLP representatives on the college's annual audit; and from MCC Foundation Chair Dan Burns on Foundation fundraising initiatives.


The Board also welcomed new trustee Ron Ricotta, president and CEO of Century Mold Co. Trustee Ricotta was recently appointed by the Monroe County Legislature to replace John Parrinello, whose term expired earlier this year.
