Understanding the academic challenges your students face when navigating research and information, MCC Libraries are committed to providing robust support through comprehensive library instruction and orientation. Our goal is to seamlessly align with your teaching objectives and empower students for success.

Fostering Essential Skills: Our program's learning outcomes are rooted in the concepts outlined in the Association of College and Research Libraries' (ACRL) Framework for Information Literacy in Higher Education. This framework, widely embraced by academic libraries nationwide, offers a holistic approach to nurturing essential research skills among students.

Comprehensive Support:

1. Library Orientation and Hands-On Research Instruction: Do you have a significant research assignment in your course? Or do you just want to introduce your students to library resources? Ask a librarian to work with your class!

Our librarians offer tailored research instruction, covering topics such as: 

• Orientation to Library Resouces and Services. 
• Navigating Databases

2. Additional Learning Supports: Supporting our students goes beyond the classroom. We're here to provide them with assistance beyond regular hours. The resources below ensure every student finds the assistance they need: 

• 1:1 Research Help: Students can visit either campus library during our open hours or schedule research help appointments. Additionally, our 24/7 online chat service is available for their convenience.
• College Researcher Tutorials: Our self-paced tutorials can seamlessly integrate into Brightspace courses. Access College Researcher in Brightspace. Preview tutorial videos on MCC Libraries' YouTube page.
• Research Guides (LibGuides): Our curated online research guides span various disciplines. If needed, we can create a personalized guide tailored to your specific course.
