Virtual Campus Services and Support

The Virtual Campus provides support to faculty and staff for Brightspace, other instructional technologies, and instructional design assistance on the development of online courses. We provide concierge assistance to our fully online students, and we offer multimedia (video and photo) services. 

During the beginning of the semester, our support hours will be held in zoom (see schedule below). Our zoom hours are staffed by members of our Virtual Campus team (Andrea, Jeremy, Kate, Jamie, Bailey, Martha, and Dax) and you can drop in during these designated times. You can share your screen and ask your question! We have provided this service since March 2020 and our faculty find this very helpful to get "just-in-time" support.  We have had 2728 drop-in visits during the 2022 calendar year! We send weekly announcements through our VC Faculty Center "course" about our support hours and any changes, so please be sure you have your Brightspace announcement notifications turned on and check your "Other" email mail folder

Faculty Innovation Center (FIC)

Our Faculty Innovation Center is located in Building 3, room 122A on the Brighton Campus. We have six computer stations with dual monitors, webcams, and access to a printer. The FIC is open from 8:45am to 4:45pm, Monday through Friday. Faculty or staff are welcome to use this quiet workspace as needed. If you need in-person support with Brightspace, we encourage you to please use our designated zoom hours or schedule an appointment with one of our team members. 

Lecture Capture Recording Rooms

We have two sound-proof recording rooms in our 3-150 office suite that can be utilized by faculty and staff for recording purposes and are available on a first-come, first-served basis. These rooms are equipped with webcams and high-end microphones for a more polished product. One room also has a smartboard. SUNY Online Help Desk

Please remember that our SUNY Online Help Desk supports Brightspace questions for faculty, staff, and students! Check SUNY Online Help Desk website for their current hours of operation which extend beyond normal business hours. You can reach them by phone or submit a support request.

SUNY Brightspace Training

SUNY hosts an asynchronous training course that all faculty are enrolled into upon the creation of their Brightspace account. You can locate this course in Brightspace by filtering by "CPD Pilot Semester". Additional live recorded SUNY trainings can be found on the SUNY DLE website (dle.suny.edu) requiring your MCC login to access any resources. 

Brightspace Tutorials

Brightspace hosts a YouTube Channel for all of their help tutorials which are short videos that are great for getting started or sharing "how to" clips with your students.
