New Smoking Policy for Sibley Building

A new smoking area has been designated by Wilmorite Corporation and will be implemented through Genesee Management (the company that manages facility issues including housekeeping, maintenance and security). All students and employees of MCC and other tenants of the Sibley Building are asked to use the new location at the rear of the Sibley Building. Smoking is prohibited within 15 feet of the entrances on Main Street, Franklin Street (near the Liberty Pole) and South Clinton Avenue. The new smoking area is located on the sidewalk that runs alongside St. Joseph’s Parking Garage on the first level. The area is partially covered.

This policy is designed to eliminate loitering and disperse crowds that gather at Sibley Building entrances and in the alcove on Main Street. We hope that by eliminating these crowds, MCC faculty, staff and students, and other visitors to the Sibley Building will feel and be safer.
