Call for Nominations - Faculty Senate Officers

As per Article V, Section 1. Officers of the Faculty Senate Bylaws, the Nominations, Elections, and Governance (NEG) Committee is now accepting nominations for the following Faculty Senate positions:     

  • President - Term 2023-2025
  • Vice President, Professional Staff - Term 2023-2024 (vacancy, 1 year)
  • Secretary - Term 2023-2025 

Inquiries and interested candidates will need to send their name, title, and department by email to Robert Reynolds (rreynolds@monroecc.edu) and email to Jason Mahar (jmahar@monroecc.edu), NEG members of Faculty Senate.  All candidate nominations must be accompanied by a candidate statement outlining the individual's qualifications, reasons for running, goals of service, and/or any other professional/biographical information that would help voters make their decisions. The deadline to submit this information is April 7, 2023.

Balloting will take place electronically, under the auspices of Institutional Research, in May. Results will be announced at the Thursday, June 15, 2023, Faculty Senate meeting.

Additional details:

  • Candidates for President, may be any member of the voting faculty (Faculty Senate member)
  • Candidates for Secretary, may be any member of the Faculty Senate.
  • Candidates for Vice President, Professional Staff, may be any member of the full-time professional staff (Faculty Senate member)

If you want to learn more about the officer roles, you can attend an information session. Faculty Senate President, Nayda Pares-Kane, will be hosting a Brown Bag Senate and Election Information session on Friday, March 24th from 12:00pm to 1:00pm in room 6-327.  No registration is required.  Just walk in.
