MCC Among Colleges Highlighted for Efforts in Helping Single Moms Achieve College Success
Education Design Lab's recent release of its Single Moms Success Design Insights Brief, which spotlights the multi-year work of MCC and three other U.S.community colleges, resulted in national media coverage.
The report discusses how the national nonprofit builds pilot programs that highlight single moms and strengthen community approach to support these learners. MCC was selected by the Education Design Lab in spring 2019 to participate in the Single Moms Success Design Challenge grant. As part of the grant, MCC collaborates in the design of innovative programs and initiatives with the goal of raising attainment rates for single mothers by 30 percent at their institutions by 2024.
